Week 8

Well this week seemed really hard to me. I worked really hard trying to get everything done. Since I finally decided which places to use the week it made the assignments harder because I had to go back and do new research. Im really starting to understand more about my topic the more I read. I didnt turn in one of my assignment in on time but I turned it in as soonn as I could so hopefully I can still get some feelback on it. Im still having trouble with MLA citations but Im really working on it. I still have to do my peer feedback and I hope what I have to say really helps someone. Well its on to week 9 and I hope its better than this week.

Week 7

This week was a little interesting. With the discussion going down. Some of my work from week six was done on a different computer so I didn't have it saved on computer but I had it written out on paper, good thing too. So I had to re type all of it.
Web Citation wasn't too hard it was easier than citing a book. I thought I did okay on that one.
Advanced Google search was great. I found out that there was more to google than I had originally thought. I know I'll use that information again in the future.
Web search was interesting. I learned which places worked best in finding what I was needing.
I learned a lot this week and enjoyed myself. This week taught me to save everything no matter what computer you are on. I think I'm learning a lot on Tuberculosis.

Week 6

When I started on the Periodical Databases assignment I started having trouble with the sites. I dont know what happened but they kept freezing on me.
The my search strategy assignment was easy. I used a dictionary and thesaurus to help me find some related words and synonyms and then tried searching with those words on different websites and got new information.
The my search results assignment went okay. The only thing I had real problems with was the MLA formatting.
The revised research plan was easy because most of it was the same with a few additions to make it better.
The more I research this topic the more Im interested in it. I find out things I didnt know before. Being around people that have TB where I work this helps me to learn more about it and help them to try and not feel so alone.

Week 5

This week was horrible I am not good at MLA formatting. I went through and used the readings provided to help me to try and put my citations in the right format. I was easier having a sheet infront of me then trying to do it from memory. So this week helped me in improving my MLA citing abilities.
With the annotation analysis I just used the readings to find out what made the annotations good or not. It was a pretty easy assignment.
Citing and Annotating Sources was kind of difficult for me. I tried to write an annotation correctly, but I'm not sure I got it quite right.
I think this week helped me to understnad things I otherwise wouldnt have like annotations. It wasn't a extremely hard week, but it was no piece of cake either. Im looking forward to next week.

Week 4

This week was pretty interesting. The assignment of the origin of Canuck was interesting. It was a little difficult to figure out which ideas were true and which ones weren't. I thought it was hard to make it seem like my idea was the right one since there were so many ideas out there. I learned that not everything you find on the internet is true, so you should watch where you get your information.
For the assignment Selecting Information Sources I went to the Big Bend Library as well as hitting the internet. I wasnt able to watch the video but I was able to read about it on the link provided. I really had to use my head on this one.
The Research Plan assignment kind of gave me a rough plan on what I was going to need to do.
I think that its going to help me in the long run.

WEEK 3

As I began week three I was behind in my work. I worked hard to try and get ahead on my work.

The assignment, organizing information, was easy. I just used the collection I already had and how I organized it. I read other peoples ideas and how they did it and it gave me some ideas on how I could change and improve some of my other collections.

Library catalogs was not as interesting to me. I went to the Big Bend Community College to use the computers there. I searched their library catalog and North Central Regional Library. The Big Bend one was a little easier to use, but it was probably because I had been on it before. Going onto the North central regional library gave me access to other places to search.

For the library visit I used the same library at Big Bend. As I searched around the library I learned more than I had before. Also I got to know more about the way things ran inside I library. I liked that they had study rooms available for anyone to use.

For the databases assignment I used the Big Bend library catalog and Pro Quest. I liked the way that you could navigate pro quest from the page, but once again Big Bend site was easy because I had been there before. I did learn how to use pro quest which I had never used before.

This week was interesting. I learned more than I thought I would this week. I thought that this class wasn't going to be real great, but I'm actually starting to learn things I probably never would have.
